Had a lovely time visiting with friends of mine, Four For Smoking, tonight at Mulligans Pub in Grand Rapids, MI. Had a chance to try out a new lens tonight as well. It was well worth every shinny penny I spent on it.

Today was a great day. Beautiful sunshine, gorgeous lakeshore, and cold as hell… even though hell isn’t cold I suppose. My friend Sarah Boomers and I journeyed to the frozen depths to capture one last piece of winter before the big thaw of 2011. Glacier like structures, flocks of Mallards and what appeared to be Eiders, angry swans, and the occasional wrong turn down a one way street… it was a blast.
Soon we will be road-tripping to the south dressed like Ke$ha impostors and armed with camera gear and performing seances to speak to Ansel Adams while driving along the Eastern Seaboard in search of strange life forms.
Anyways, until then enjoy this photograph from today. Thank you Adams for putting in a word with the Big Guy upstairs to give us some sunlight.
